On July 16, Yuyue Hot Spring Holiday Hotel in Guidong County was officially put into operation. The hotel is a wellness tourism project invested and constructed by Guoyue Group, and successfully introduced by Guidong County in 2022. The project, themed on the hot spring resources and characterized by wellness and “oxygen”, aims to allow tourists to bathe in the hot spring while experiencing the “coolness”, and enjoy the beautiful rural scenery and leisurely rural life at the same time.

 

According to the head of Yuyue Hot Spring Holiday Hotel, the hot spring water comes from 1,770 meters underground, with a daily water output of 480 tons and a temperature of 36℃ close to the human body temperature. And the hot spring here is a kind of sulfur hot spring, which contains lithium ion content of 0.33 mg/l.

 

 

The amount of lithium ion is rare in the nature. The hot spring has a certain effect on the improvement of hematopoietic function, and it can regulate the activity of people’s central nervous system, and stabilize the mood. It also has an auxiliary effect on the treatment of manic depression, kidney stones and rheumatism.

 

Guidong County, with an average altitude of 881 meters above sea level, has a forest coverage rate of 81.97%. The average content of negative oxygen ions in the county area is 25,000 per cubic centimeter, and the highest instantaneous value can reach 150,000. With the average annual temperature of 16.1 ℃, and the average temperature in summer of only 23.7 ℃, Guidong County is a veritable “natural oxygen zone” and “summer resort”.

 

 

In recent years, Guidong County has taken advantage of its suitable temperature and rich oxygen resources to build Wanyang Mountain Scenic Area, Jinshanman'gu Resort and other wellness tourist destinations, so as to promote the “all-for-one tourism for wellness and oxygen”.

 

“Now Jinshanman'gu Resort is almost booked up, though there are still many calls for rooms,” said Luo Peng, a villager from Jindong Village in Guidong County. 

 

According to statistics, Guidong County has received more than 150,000 visitors since July. The number of tourism reception and the total number of tourists have both increased significantly, showing the wellness tourism is gaining momentum.
