Recently, the sea of sunflowers in the Panjiawan section of the Chenjiang River Scenic Belt has become a new popular destination for citizens and tourists.
The Panjiawan sunflower project was launched in May 2024. The original vegetation was protectively transplanted and then sunflowers were planted on the land of 3,000 square meters. An automatic sprinkler system has also been installed to ensure the subsequent irrigation.
The native vegetation in the Panjiawan section of the Chenjiang River Scenic Belt was mainly lawns, with few trees and shrubs, so there was a little transplanting workload to cope with. The transplanted trees can also provide certain isolation and protection for the later flower landscape.
The Panjiawan section is adjacent to the Chenjiang River, with no high-rise buildings in the surrounding area. It’s very suitable to create a flower sea, with wide view and abundant sunshine.
The flower sea has been carefully nurtured throughout the process from seed rooting, sprouting to flowering. After two months, Panjiawan’s sunflowers are in full bloom this month, attracting many citizens and tourists to take photos.
