The state-owned 711 mine in Xujiadong Town, Suxian District, Chenzhou City is one of the earliest developed uranium mines in China, which was closed in 2004.
In recent years, relying on legacy buildings in the mining areas and honors the 711 mine received such as “National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit” and “National Industrial Heritage”, Chenzhou City has made efforts to create 711 Time Town that integrates catering and accommodation, hot spring health preservation, science popularization, and leisure.
Nowadays, the town has become a local Red tourism attraction. It received 85,000 visitors during the 2024 National Day holiday.
