The Mangshan Yao drum dance and the Yizhang acorn tofu making skills, two municipal-level intangible cultural heritage (ICH) projects in Yizhang County, were invited to participate in the 2024 Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Week as well as Foshan Qiuse Parade held from November 1 to 3.
This event aimed to create a comprehensive, multi-level, and three-dimensional “Autumn of Foshan” through parade, immersive performances, and a series of cultural experiences.
With the beating of wooden barrel drums, the Mangshan Yao drum dance received cheers and applause from the citizens of Foshan.
The acorn tofu making skills were presented on the site, with more than 3,000 yuan of acorn tofu sold, and an annual order of over 1 million yuan was signed with Guangdong Shike Fresh Delivery Service Co., Ltd.
In recent years, the Yizhang County government has attached great importance to the inheritance and protection of traditional culture and ICH projects. More than 60 ICH-themed activities are held in schools, communities, and scenic areas every year.
The “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” large-scale ICH exhibitions as well as performances, night story parades and other ICH activities have been carried out.
