It was learned from Chenzhou Economic and Information Commission that in order to help more people to get more convenient access of WiFi, it planned to reach the goal of free WiFi in main urban areas of Chenzhou city within 3 years.

As introduced by the staff of Chenzhou Economic and Information Commission that enhanced informatization project would be carried out in Chenzhou city. In the following three years, “Broadband Chenzhou” and “Wireless City” projects would be extended more to enable 80% internet penetration to be achieved on the urban families of Chenzhou city. At the meantime, 3G and WLAN would be further promoted, especially for the free WiFi target.

According to the plan, FTTH would be one of the main forms to construct the urban broadband network.

Further informatization investment would be placed on the rural areas to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas on the informatization.
