Great achievements reached for “three rural issues” work of Chenzhou city in 2012

Chenzhou government will strive to increase agricultural output value by 4%, per capita net income of farmers by 17% and total grain production amount to 1.9 million tons. 

Videophone conference of Chenzhou rural work, Chenzhou rural environmental remediation work & mobilization of Luoxiao mountain area poverty alleviation was held on February 27, 2013. Besides summarizing the achievements of Chenzhou city’s “three rural issues”, the key work working targets of 2013 were set on the conference.

In 2012, great achievements were reached for “three rural issues” work of Chenzhou city. Such as the fast growth of rural residents’ income, grain production increase and rapid agricultural output value increase among Hunan province’s cities. Furthermore, new breakthroughs were reached in the development of modern agriculture, agriculture infrastructure construction and agricultural management system innovation. At the meantime, three highlights of the work were highlighted well: acceleration of integration of urban and rural areas, upgrading of forestry ecological construction and significant achievements of poverty alleviation and development.

Though Chenzhou city achieved greatly on the three rural issues, there are still many problems hindered the way of its further rural area development, such as the high agriculture development cost and risk, poor agricultural management system, weak agricultural infrastructure, low agricultural industrialization level, etc..

Chenzhou city will keep working on the integration of urban and rural area and promoting the modernization of agricultural and new rural construction to increase the farmer’s income and to maintain the continuous and healthy development of rural economy and society. Furthermore, Chenzhou government will strive to increase agricultural output value by 4%, per capita net income of farmers by 17% and total grain production amount to 1.9 million tons.

Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou city stated in the conference that all the agricultural and rural work should be promoted well with the guide of the spirit of 18th National Congress of CPC. All the departments should hold the new demands of “three rural issues” listed in the congress and grasp the key work for Chenzhou city’s agricultural and rural work; should improve the rural environment to build beautiful villages; and should accelerate the poverty alleviation with the focus on Luoxiao mountainous area.
