Both rosa chinensis and crape myrtle are the city flowers of Chenzhou city. According to the plan of greening project office that 0.21 million city flowers will be planted by the gardens department in 2013 to decorate Chenzhou city to be more beautiful and attractive.

Both the two flowers are with long blossom season, such as rosa chinensis blooms every month and crape myrtle is with about 100 days flowering phase. In order to establish the national garden city with unique Chenzhou local features and beautiful flower scenery, 0.1 million crape myrtle and 0.11 million rosa chinensis will be planted in the main roads, parks, gardens and squares by Chenzhou gardens department. Besides that flowers planting plan, some units and communities will work together to plant both the two city flowers in their yards. This project will be started in the middle of March and try to be finished before May 30, 2013.
