Baoshan which is also known as Baoling was called Dacoushan. It is with rich mineral resources, which enables it to be an important silver metallurgy and smelting place of China from Han Dynasty.

Wu Tiangao who is one of researchers of Guiyang Historical Culture Research Center said: “the only gold officer of the whole country was set here in Han Dynasty. In following 2000 years, the mining work never was stopped here. Zhao Kuangyin who was the first Emperor of Song Dynasty treated Guiyang county as his national treasury for it was the biggest smelting base at that age, especially the silver. ”

There is open single mining area which is rare in China available in Hunan Baoshan National Mine Park, as well as non-ferrous modern vertical shaft, the biggest copper coin sculpture of China, and other mining historical culture elements.
