Yongxing county took active actions to propagandize and popularize the selection of ten cultural symbols of Chenzhou from the very first beginning of the event by different ways of distributing recommendation forms, holding symposium. Some unique cultural symbols of Yongxing county were selected out during the period.

Dabujiang patchwork embroidery, Yongxing sweet orange, Silver Tower and Banliang ancient village are some hot ones among all.

Li Yongdong who is the First Deputy Director of Yongxing Propaganda Department said: “TV report, mobile phone report, and special conferences for the selection were handled out by Yongxing county to propagandize the event, which greatly mobilized the passion of local people.”

In 2008, Yongxing Silver Tower which was made of over 2500kgs real silvers was opened to public. It was introduced that all the silvers were recycled from the wastes.

Lan Feng who is the Deputy Director of Yongxing Propaganda Department and Chairman of Yongxing Literary Federation said: “Yongxing county is famous as ‘silver county of China’. Silver Tower highly represents over 300-year-old smelting culture of the county.”

Cao Shengwen- Director of Xinda Silver Industry said: “it is influential for the development of local industry, especially for the upgrading of global influence, which can be very helpful for further promotion of products.”

Banliang ancient village which is located in Gaotingsi town, Yongxing county was firstly built in late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty. Though it is over 600-year-old, more than 360 ancient Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty style dwellers are well reserved there. Ancient patriarchal clan system ritual, Confucianism traditions, concept of Fengshui, philosophy awareness, architectural skills, and etc. were well reserved there.

Wang Mingxi who is one of the researchers of Yongxing local culture said the tradition never interrupted, but is being carried forward. Banliang ancient village is a most representative and characteristic ancient village of Chenzhou city with sound condition and large scale.
