It was introduced that in order to consolidate and upgrade the achievements reached on afforestation and promote the establishment work of national forest city, Tangdong street tried new and innovative measures to carry out the greening work on the basis of its practical condition.

12 hardworking villagers were hired by Tangdong street to carry out the daily management and protection issues of their specified responsible forest area. The key workings for the special “green guide” were daily patrol for the forest, protection propaganda and guidance for the villagers, dynamic fire situation report, prevention for the behaviors destroying forest, disposition for the potential safety hazard, etc. At the meantime, detailed job requirements, responsibilities, rewards and punishments were figured out to motivate their working positivity.

It was introduced that 1560mu afforestation work has been done by Tangdong street during the “three-year greening project”, which enabled all the visual mountain tops to be covered with greening trees. Followed with some management and protection measures, the afforestation achievements were well protected under the severe drought condition. It was reported that the rate of survival for the newly planted trees was above 95%.
