With the development of beautiful villages and courtyards, the environment of Banwu Village, Xujiadong Town, Suxian District, Chenzhou City has improved a lot. The unapproved construction and litter have been replaced by the clean and neat roads. The local government also planted a bamboo park with an area of around 1,000 mu (about 66.67 hectares) and entertainment facilities for people of all ages.

 

 

 

The development of beautiful villages has not only improved the village environment, but also benefited the villagers. In the past, a large workforce was in idle with a per capita annual income of less than 10,000 yuan. Then the village boosted its industries of flue-cured tobacco and bamboo by expanding the farmland area and introducing Huayi bamboo processing factory, which helped to increase the farmers’ income. Now with a per capita income of 21,000 yuan per year, the villagers have felt much more fulfilled and happier.
