Recently, in the grain drying plant of Huoliba Village, Liyutang Town, Yongxing County, Chen Fangren, Party secretary of the village, was busy conducting the final machine debugging work with several grain growers.
32,000 mu (about 2133.33 hectares) of late rice in Liyutang Town are about to ripen. It is expected that 16,000 tons of rice will be produced, and it needs to be dried and stored in a timely manner.
The grain production in Liyutang Town has shown a trend of intensive and large-scale development. At present, there are 123 large grain growers in the town with an area of over 60 mu (4 hectares) each. They have expanded their planting areas through land transfer, injecting new vitality into grain production.
However, the traditional grain drying has low efficiency, large losses, and weather constraints, which can no longer meet the needs of the current new situation in grain production.
In order to solve this problem, Liyutang Town has promoted the mechanization of grain drying. In addition to the original 9 sets of drying equipment, the village has invested more than 900,000 yuan this year to build a new grain drying plant and add 4 sets of drying equipment. Meanwhile, through the renovation of 40 Tobacco curing barns, the daily drying capacity has increased from 185 tons to 300 tons.
Besides, Liyutang Town has optimized the layout of drying equipment, making it convenient for farmers to dry grains nearby. Compared to the traditional drying method, mechanical drying is not affected by weather, which greatly improves production efficiency. This not only effectively prevents problems such as rice rot, germination, and mold growth, but also reduces the loss of rice in the production process, thereby to increase the income of growers.
