On May 19, the National Seminar on Popularization of Natural Resources and Geosciences, one of the theme activities of the 7th CMGE Linwu Venue, was held in Chufeng Forum of the public center of Jade Cultural Industrial Park in our county. Jia Yueming, Vice Chairman of Chinese Society of Natural Science Museums, and former Curator of China Geological Museum, Liu Shuchen, Vice Curator of China Geological Museum, and Chen Songling, Deputy Director of Hunan Natural Resources Department, attended the meeting. Liu Yang, County Deputy Party Secretary and County Director, delivered speeches.

Liu Yang said in his speech that Linwu County, with beautiful scenery, is a huge treasure house of natural resources and rich mineral resources, known as the "Small Town of Nonferrous Metals", "Town of Jade" and "Capital of Mineral Crystals". More than 50 kinds of mineral reserves have been identified, including coal, graphite, marble and other non-metallic minerals. "Xianghua Stone" is regarded as a national treasure, and "Tongtian Jade", "Xianghua Jade" and "Shunlong Jade" are abundant in reserves. At this meeting, experts from all provinces and cities in the field of natural resources and geoscience gathered together to open a treasury of geological science knowledge for Linwu, and sincerely hoped to continue to care, support and help Linwu and Linwu's gemstone industry development. At the same time, Linwu will take this science popularization seminar as an opportunity and motive force to further fully demonstrate Linwu's unique style of "Jade Town and Mineral Crystal Capital", give full play to the positive role of science popularization education in the Expo, explore new ways to develop science popularization and enhance the effectiveness of science popularization work.

At the meeting, Jia Yueming put forward to the participants a new hope of "recognizing the situation and facing challenges, keeping in mind our mission and unremitting pursuit, striving to create a new situation, thanking fate, cherishing opportunities and wishing for new achievement". Zhang Jingming, a professor at China University of Science and Technology, presented AR, animated short films, mobile games and other new forms of popular science on the spot; Ren Liping, Senior Engineer of Tourism Geological Survey Center of Henan Geological Survey Institute, put forward a refreshing view on science popularization of geoparks; Jin Xingsheng, Vice-curator of Zhejiang Natural Museum, showed various forms of natural science popularization activities in museums of China and Japan.

Subsequently, Jiang Qingfeng, Deputy Director of Beijing Planning and Natural Resources Committee, Shi Jianru, Curator of Shanxi Geological Museum, Li Jieming, Deputy Curator of Henan Geological Museum and Liao Shan, Deputy Curator of Hunan Geological Museum exchanged experiences on the current situation of science popularization work and how to improve the level of science popularization activities. In the afternoon, the leaders and participants attended Linwu Mineral Gem Museum and Linwu International Mineral Crystal and Wonderful Stone Museum for on-site observation and study.
Wan Jujin, Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning, and county leaders Chen Xiuyu, Zhou Zuolin and Ouyang Wenbo attended the meeting.
