At 9:17 a.m. on May 17, the 7th China (Hunan) International Mineral Gem Expo (CMGE), co-sponsored by the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government and the Hunan Provincial Department of Natural Resources, officially opened. The Expo will be held from May 17 to 21, with the theme of "magical minerals, colorful bismuth".

At the site of opening ceremony

Chen Wenhao, Vice Governor of Hunan Provincial People's Government, Zhang Jian, Vice Chairman of Hunan Provincial CPPCC, Yi Pengfei, Secretary-General of Chenzhou Municipal Committee, Li Xianxing, Deputy Secretary-General of Hunan Provincial People's Government, Wang Yiou, Director of Hunan Natural Resources Department and Party Secretary, and Liu Zhiren, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor attended the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Yi Pengfei, Secretary of the Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee (first left), presented the prizes to Du Sijian, the winner of Gold Prize, Mu Lin, the winner of the Silver Prize, and Cao Yu, the winner of the Copper Prize of the first "Star of Mineral Crystal". Liu Zhiren delivered a speech and warmly welcomed the visitors to this Expo. Since the Expo was settled in Chenzhou in 2015, Chenzhou has insisted on using precious stones as the media, and convention and exhibition as the link to make friends all over the world with exhibitors from all over the world. Over the past four years, the total transaction value of the Expo has exceeded 7.24 billion yuan, and the number of visitors has reached 1.356 million. The number of countries, regions and businesses participating in the Expo has reached 135 batches and 1617 batches respectively.

Isabel Perez, Consul General of Cuba's Consulate General in Guangzhou, and Peter Megaw, President of Tucson Jewelry and Minerals Exhibition in the United States, made speeches respectively, wishing for the success of the Expo.
The theme of the 8th CMGE - "Magic Mineral Crystals, Unique Silver" was also announced at the opening ceremony.
