Qualitative Change- Chenzhou City’s Development Pattern Changes Rapidly
It was learned from the Investigation Team of State Statistic Bureau that 2013 per capita consumption expenditure for urban residents of Chenzhou city hit 12662yuan. Though the main consumer expenditure is still on food, the Engel coefficient (statically speaking, it refers to the portion makes up by food expenditure on total household consumption) kept to decline in 2013, which indicated that the consumption structure was kept to be optimized and urban residents living condition was upgraded as well.
Food expenditure keeps making up main part
According to the data, residents’ per capita food expenditure was amounted to 4433yuan in 2013. The food consumption on Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Middle Autumn Day holiday increased rapidly with optimized consumption structure. The Engel coefficient of 2013 Chenzhou urban residents was 35.0 which was 2.5% lower than 2012. 60% expenditures were placed on the “enjoy type” consumption which helped to upgrade living quality and consumption structure.
Online shopping becomes a new hot spot
Along with the popularity of network, mobile payment, and etc., people can be free from the computer payment, which greatly helped to promote the online shopping. According to the record, Chenzhou urban residents’ per capita expenditure online hit 71yuan in 2013, 16.4% higher than 2012 and 227.2% higher than 2011.
Preschool education consumption becomes a new highlight
Due to the richer material life, people are knee on the upgrading of spiritual and cultural consumption. It was recorded that Chenzhou urban residents’ per capita expenditure on education, culture and entertainment hit 1385yuan, covering 10.9% of the total household consumption. 729yuan were spent on the education, covering 52.6% of the total expenditure on education, culture and entertainment. Especially for the preschool education part, it took 85yuan per capita. Concerned for the 656yuan per capita expenditure on culture and entertainment, 109yuan were for durable consumer goods, and rest 437yuan were for service which became one of the main methods to drive the increase of consumption.
More expenditure is spent on traffic and communications
It was reported that the Chenzhou urban residents’ per capita expenditure on traffic and communication was 1245yuan, covering 9.8% of total consumption expenditure. It became one of the key parts for consumption expenditure. Along with the improvement of transportation condition of Chenzhou city, economic trade, communication between urban and rural areas, social communications, and other activities were improved as well, which greatly stimulated the increase of motor vehicles in Chenzhou city. According to the data, Chenzhou urban residents’ expenditure on transportation hit 661yuan in 2013, 203yuan of which were for the purchasing of autos. Because of substantial increase in car ownership, the expenditure on fuel and use & maintenance for vehicles increased to 180yuan per capita and 86yuan per capita separately.
Chenzhou urban residents’ per capita expenditure on communications was 575yuan, 141yuan of which were for purchasing of mobile phones and 424yuan were for communication services.
