On January 25, 2018, the Uruguay National Swimming Team trained in the Beihu Longnv Scenic Area swimming and diving center for preparation of the 2018 South American Games.

"The recovery is good now and we will be able to train normally in a few days." Zhou Chongzheng introduced that due to the geographical advantages of the Longnv Hot Spring Swimming Center, hot spring water can guarantee seasonal training and there are many professional teams to gather here every year. Because of long time training, many athletes have occupational diseases such as lumbar muscle strain and scapulohumeral periarthritis. To this end, the Longnv hot spring swimming center reached an agreement with the hospital, designated for athletes rehabilitation treatment.

"Promoting cooperation between swimming centers and hospitals is only part of the effort to create a characteristic town Longnv hot springs in Beihu District." According to the relevant person in charge of the Business Bureau of Beihu District, in recent years, the district has made full use of the location advantages of Longnv hot springs to build a health town with health-care industry as the core and diversified functions such as health, pension, leisure, tourism and so on. At present, Longnv Hot Spring Healthy Characteristic Town has built the rehabilitation hospital and is building the Country Garden Longnv Recuperation Project. After the completion of the town, it will alleviate the problems of expensive recuperation and large demand for recuperation brought about by population and economic growth, and gradually integrate and upgrade the industrial resources of medical, cultural, tourism, education and health, so as to promote the leap-forward development of Beihu District from a regional tourism destination to an international holiday destination.

In the past two years, the state's policy support for the construction of characteristic towns with special features has been steadily increasing, and a nationwide construction upsurge has been set off. Many characteristic towns have become an important part of local development, inheritance of culture and promotion of urban and rural co-ordination.
