Jiahe county’s development of county economy

Compared with other counties of Chenzhou city, one of the notable features of Jiahe County is that it is less than half an hour drive from county downtown to every village, especially to the surrounding towns, which is less than 10 minutes. A “grand cross” economic corridor was formed with some high levels of roads like Guijia road, Jiaxin road, Jianing road, and Jialan road centered with Jiahe county downtown. Jiahe County will be the intersection of Double-track Beijing-Zhuhai highway and Xiamen-Chengdu highway once the two are finished, which will greatly help to enhance Jiahe County’s connection with the exterior places and highlight its location advantages.

Highlighting the characteristic development to perfect its connotation

According to the characteristics of Jiahe County, the county government confirmed its unique development strategy of promoting county economy development by integrating urban and rural areas. It was defined as a strategic concept that constructing Jiahe county to be “the pilot zone for the integration of urban & rural areas in south Hunan” in 2010. Then in 2011, it was confirmed as a great target to “fully promote the construction of Hunan provincial demonstration county for the integration of urban & rural areas” in the 11th county Party’s Congress. In 2012, during the county economy work conference, the connotation of integration of urban & rural areas was further deepened and improved by presenting the “1234” strategy as follows: “1” for concentrating on one target such as establishing “Hunan provincial demonstration county for the integration of urban & rural areas”; “2” for building two corridors of integration of urban & rural areas; “3” for cultivating three economic growth poles; “4” for forging “one city and three bases”.

It was introduced by Secretary of Jiahe County Party Committee- Zhao Yu with a new concept that promoting the integration of urban & rural areas is to develop highways to be streets, fields to be manors, mountains be forests, water bodies to be fairylands, villages be communities, and residents to be citizens.
With its rapid development, Jiahe county was listed as Hunan provincial “demonstration county for the integration of urban & rural areas”, “pilot county of integration of urban & rural employment”, “pilot county of integration of urban & rural public buses”, “pilot county of integration of urban & rural social assistance”, and “pilot county of integration of urban & rural water supply”. Jiahe’s “Hunan provincial demonstration county for the integration of urban & rural areas”” was figured out in the “outline of Hunan provincial twelfth five-year plan”

Promoting the demonstration construction by integrating points and spheres

Recently, reporters visited communities of Jiahe County and was learned that great changes took place in the communities with the transformation. It was learned from the official of Xinglang town, Jiahe County that by seizing the change of the integration, Xinglang town is trying its best to forge the “sub-center” of Jiahe town, “satellite town” of Chenzhou city and “central town” of Hunan province.

Keeping positive interaction between urban and rural development

The construction of integration of urban & rural areas has brought unprecedented opportunities to Jiahe County, which greatly help Jiahe County expand its central county downtown and promote the integration development of old city, new city and industrial park. On the transformation of the old city, strictly following the planning program, 3 billion yuan was invested on the construction of fortune commercial pedestrian street and Zhongwei Shennong pedestrian street, “five vertical and six horizontal” main road nets and 50 administrative projects in the old city. The new city construction was launched in 2010 and now is under good control and it is planned to build another new city in 3-5 years. On the industrial park construction, some infrastructures were fully perfected, and 0.3 million standard factory workshops were fulfilled, which successfully attracted over 300 enterprises to settle down.
