A flat "Red Army Road" strung the village into an ink painting. Zhu's ancestral hall, ancient bridges, temples and dwellings are well preserved. Dengyunxian, General Temple and other historical and cultural relics are unique.

The tunnels and buildings are compact and flexible, and the village space is changeable. The ancient buildings in the village are carved with beams and painted columns, with eaves and ridges. The wood, stone and brick carvings are rich and colorful, and the landscapes, figures, flowers and birds are lifelike. It reflects the unique charm of the ancient villages in southern Hunan and has high historical and artistic value.

Shazhou Red Scenic Spot pays attention to the protection and inheritance. Through the transformation of hollow village, it beautifies the appearance of the village and provides supporting tourism service facilities. The newly-built rural complex of Shazhou integrates mountains, water, fields, gardens and lakes. In the past, small mountain villages have been transformed and become the typical representative of beautiful villages in Chenzhou and even Hunan.
