Baoshan, commonly known as Baoling, was known as "Dachoushan" and was called as Zilong originally, the place for Zhao Yun stationing his troops after conquered Chenzhou in the three kingdoms period. Baoshan is rich in mineral deposits including lead, zinc, silver, gold, molybdenum, rhenium, bismuth, copper, sulphur, iron and other nonferrous metals, used to be the place of all previous dynasties government refining silver and smelting and casting since Han Dynasty, providing the raw material of the first farm tool (Shen Nong Zuo Lei) and the fastest sword (sword of state) in the world.

The Park (Tourist Attraction) is divided into "one center and seven districts", that is, Tourist Service Center, Underground Exploration District, Open-pit Scene District, Mining and Metallurgy Expo Park District, Zilong Training Camp District, Gujun Viewing Deck (Pengcai Park District), Mining Custom Park District, and Dressing and Smelting Process Visit District. Here is a history of mining for thousands of years including outdoor monomer mining district rare in the mainland, quite modern central-south nonferrous mines shaft, world's largest ancient copper coins theme sculpture and wealth avenue; under the shaft, there are colorful malachite, translucent ice crystals needle, irritative mining exploration and 3D film, and so many old arcades holes inherited from the Manchurian days.

Industrial and Mining Tourism Platform

In 2017, more than 20,000 tourists from home and abroad were received in Baoshan scenic spot, and the income of comprehensive tourist tickets was more than 600,000 yuan. The scenic spot has been awarded the title of Hunan Industrial Tourism Demonstration Site, National Mine Park, and National AAAA Tourist Scenic Spot, and has been listed in the National "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" Tourism Infrastructure Planning Project and the "251" Key Construction Project of Hunan Province.

Baoshan National Mining Park in Hunan Province has been broadcast by CCTV and Hunan TV. At the same time, Baoshan has won the social honors of "green mine", "demonstration mine", "4A-level scenic spot", "popular science base", "academician expert workstation" and "high-tech enterprise" at the national level. Mining and Metallurgy Expo Park

The Mining and Metallurgy Expo Park, located at the north of Baoshan Mining Park, is for mine metallurgy and sightseeing, eco-theme recreation, science and education and leisure, and festival& event site.

The scenic spots adopt regular garden design techniques, with one horizontal axis, one vertical axis and two vertical axes, a circular square at the intersection of axes, a Mining Museum in the west of the horizontal axis, and a silo in the south of the vertical axis. Both sides of the two axes are displaying mechanical appliance to tell travelers relevant manufacturing technique process including finding mine, exploring mine, checking mine, exploiting mine and smelting mine blending science popularization education into trip entertainment. The square makes an available site for holding mega event. There are the Mining Museum, Mining Tools Showing Axes, Silo, Large Square, Mining Amusement Park and other tourist attractions.
