Dongjiang Lake is 160 square kilometers big with the average depth of 51meters, while the deepest place is 157meters. Due to the deep water, it is with great water storage capacity of 8.12billion cubic meters which is about half of Dongting Lake, so it is honored as “Dongting of south Hunan”. It is the biggest artificial lake of Hunan province. The great ideologist of China- Confucius once said: “the virtuous finds pleasure in hills, and the wise finds pleasure in water”. For Dongjiang Lake, both hills and water are available there that visitors can enjoy the natural and cultural sceneries there.
