It was learned from the official website of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Department that Chenzhou Nanling Botanical Garden was named in the seventh Hunan provincial popular science bases list. Till now, four bases of Chenzhou city have been confirmed as Hunan provincial ones.

It was introduced that Nanling Botanical Garden covers 40.2 hectares management areas with a forest coverage rate of over 90%. 2036 species of 188 families’ botany resources are available in the park. Science orchard, practice base of industrialized seedling production, research and development center, and some other science activity places were set in the park. It is free to the public. Some flower exhibitions and youth botany science education activities were held here every year. According to the data, over 0.4 million people visited the park this year, which was much more than 0.3 million in 2012. This base is great helpful to provide the citizens especially the youth with a scientific center.

It was introduced by the staffs of Chenzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau that once confirmed as Hunan provincial popular science base, it would be more capable for the park to benefit more favorable policies released by relative department.
