In 2017, the city government formally approved the "Chenzhou urban transit network planning". Our city is planning to build 2 rail transits, Chenzhou-Zixing-Yongxing Line and Chenzhou-Guiyang Line in 2030 and the Chenzhou-Yizhang Line in 2050 to form the cross-type town groups rail transit network in 2050 in Chenzhou.

The plan supports Chenzhou's strategic intention, and strengthens the direct connection between the core area of the central city and Zixing, Yongxing, Guiyang and Yizhang.The long-term plan is to start construction of the Chenzhou-Zixing-Yongxing Line and the Chenzhou-Guiyang Line before 2030 to form the east-west main axis of the "Grand Cross" town groups, and build the Chenzhou-Yizhang Line after 2030 to form a cross-type Chenzhou rail transit network. It is suggested that rail transit should adopt medium and low speed maglev and monorail system with a total passenger flow of 710,000 passengers per day.

The network links up Chenzhou Beihu Airport, Chenzhou West Railway Station, Bus Terminal, Chenzhou Railway Station, and other transportation hubs, and also connects the Cultural and Commercial Center, Longnv Hot Springs, Feitian Mountain, Dongjiang Lake, Changlu Resort and other major scenic spots, which will have certain attraction to the passenger flow.

The project overall designer Bian Tao said that the project has planned 3 lines, the total length of 197.1 km, with 52 stations and 3 transfer stations.
