In order to protect and utilize the ecological tourism resources of Nanling area, a seminar for construction of Nanling area’s ecological tourism and ecological function zone was held in the afternoon of September 19, 2014. The leaders, experts and representatives of tourism industry from 6 cities of four provinces (Hunan province, Guangxi province, Jiangxi province and Guangdong province) gathered together to share their ideas on the development of tourism economy in Nanling area.

The seminar was sponsored by Hunan Tourism Bureau, Chenzhou Municipal Government, and Central South University of Forestry and Technology. Four ecological tourism experts from Zhongshan University, Jiangxi Tourism Planning Institute, Guangxi University and Central South University of Forestry and Technology addressed their special lectures from the aspects of construction of Nanling national park, cooperation and development of Nanling ecological tourism function zone, ecological compensation of Nanling ecological tourism function zone and cultural context of Nanling ecological tourism development and shared their ideas for the further development of Nanling area’s ecological tourism. Professor Zhang Chaozhi presented a construction mode for Nanling park as inter-regional construction with the main bodies of self-driving, camping base (limo base), minitype inn, and boutique inn, with key points of activity development and cultivation of small and medium-sized enterprises, and with priority of beltway construction. Dean Hong Wengyi stated a conception of “six joint” as joint construction, joint expansion of market, joint promotion, joint development of brand, joint removal of obstacles and joint sharing of achievement. Professor Yang Yongde stated that from the aspect of protection of Nanling ecological resource, the eco-compensation of Nanling area should be the mixed model with principal of hematopoietic compensation and supplement of confuse compensation. Professor Zhong Yonngde said both Hakka culture in east area and Yao minority culture in west area should be the cultural veins of Nanling ecological tourism development.

A consensus on the declaration of promotion of Nanling ecological tourism was reached among Qingyuan, Hezhou, Ganzhou, Shaoguan, Yongzhou and Chenzhou city. All of them would focus on the work of following six fields to promote Nanling ecological tourism construction: protection of great Nanling area’s ecology, preparation for launching the plan of“joint construction of Nanling international ecological tourism zone”, construction of cooperation mechanism for Nanling clear area tourism, promotion of classic travel routes of Nanling tourism zone, construction of Nanling tourism brand and promotion of its marketing, and cultivation of talents for Nanling tourism. It was purposely to reach the coordinate development of ecology, economy and society in this region and promote prosperous and glory development of Nanling area.
