Chenzhou city is welcoming its honorable guests in this March. On March 29, 2016, the 1st Chenzhou Merchants Conference & investment attraction docking conference of “welcoming county fellows to improve the home town” was held in Chenzhou city. Over 300 representatives of Chenzhou chambers of commerce gathered together to share their ideas on improving the development of Chenzhou city. Yi Pengfei- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee attended the conference and delivered an important speech there. Qu Hai- Deputy Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chenzhou City hosted the conference.

Yi Pengfei said that non-governmental chamber of commerce always plays the role of important platform for political and commercial communication, important belt for the communication between government and enterprises, and important power for promoting regional economic development. It was purposely to guide the members of Chenzhou chambers of commerce to promote the development of Chenzhou city- their hometown together by holding this merchants conference. 

Yi expresses his three hopes for the merchants on the conference. He hoped that the merchants can carry forward the fine traditions and inherit the spirit of Chenzhou merchants. The cultural and spirit of Chenzhou merchants had a long history, which helped to establish Chenzhou merchants image of “hardworking, honest, humility” and spirit of “aggressive, competitive, prudent, cultural, teamwork”, so that they stood firmly on the world with good reputation. It is even valuable that Chenzhou merchants never forget to pay back the home town when they become more powerful. They are become an important force for propagandizing, promoting, and improving Chenzhou city. It is admirable and inspiring for Chenzhou merchants’ hardworking and great achievements. Chenzhou city is proud for them. The sound traditions and precious spirits which accumulated by Chenzhou merchants in the long history should be carried forward age by age.

Yi also hoped that the merchants can seize the chance of development and boost further development. Chenzhou city is on a new beginning of development. The strategic opportunity of “one belt, one road”, general target of “five Chenzhou”, general strategy of “keeping leading role of industry, improving overall development”, general requirements of “promoting industry, improving entity, upgrading quality, increasing effect”, and four “4-year action”, all of which indicated that Chenzhou city is equipped with the advantages and potentialities for further development. He sincerely hoped that the merchants can connect their developments with Chenzhou city’s development and attract more elements as capitals, projects, talents, technologies, and etc. to gather in Chenzhou city, so that contribute more to the development of the home town.

Yi hoped that the merchants can establish Chenzhou merchants brand by keeping improving. The chambers of commerce and merchants should keep improving themselves and try to popularize Chenzhou merchants brand on the basis of ready conditions; should forge modern chambers of commerce and well play the role of the home for member enterprises and Chenzhou merchants; should play the role of bridge to guide more enterprises to place investments on Chenzhou city.

Qu Hai said Chenzhou merchants are the elites of Chenzhou city, are proud of Chenzhou people, and are precious fortune for Chenzhou city’s development. Chenzhou chambers of commerce in other places have become the important windows for propagandizing Chenzhou city, important bridge and belt for foreign trade, and important power for promoting the social and economic development of Chenzhou city.

Qu hoped the merchants can keep carrying forward the sound spirits of Chenzhou merchants and pay back home town by joining in the construction and attracting more investments to Chenzhou city with the assistance of their ready resources.

Luo Shuangfeng- Deputy Director of Hunan Commerce Department highly appraised Chenzhou Merchants Conference and the spirit of the merchants. He stated that it was a good time to place investments on Chenzhou city and the merchants shared the responsibilities to promote the improvement of Chenzhou city. Hunan Commerce Department and some subordinate departments of Hunan province would keep supporting the development of Chenzhou and its merchants with sound services.

Luo Guangzhou- Chairman of Chenzhou Chamber of Commerce of Zhuhai delivered an address on the conference. He expressed his hope that all Chenzhou merchants can take active actions to propagandize Chenzhou city and work together to promote the development of hometown.

A short film “Chenzhou Merchants” was shown on the conference. Chenzhou Commerce Department, Chenzhou Economy and Information Commission, Chenzhou Tourism and Foreign Affairs Bureau, Zixing city, Guiyang county, and Yongxing county presented special promotions with different themes on the conference as well.

A signing ceremony was held on the conference. Chenzhou Government and Alibaba (China) Software Co., Ltd. signed a framework agreement on promoting the development of Chenzhou city’s e-commerce. 20 projects on manufacturing of furniture, robots, and glass, cultural tourism, cross-border e-commerce, aerospace, and etc. which were covered with 11.11billion yuan investments were signed on the site.

Some Hunan provincial leaders and Chenzhou municipal leaders were present at the conference.
