The executive meeting of Hunan Government decided to fix the mineral show in Chenzhou city; Du Jiahao- Secretary of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Hunan Province guided to improve the show to be the first famous brand international exhibition of Hunan province.

What is the results favored to Chenzhou city by this show?

1.6billion yuan trading volume- a large characteristic industrial cluster

“We are proud about the Ministry of Land and Resources, Hunan Provincial Party Committee, and Hunan Government’s trust to fix the show in Chenzhou city. It is also a duty and great driving force for our further development,” said Yi Pengfei- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee.

According to the data, the 3rd CMGS which was held in Chenzhou city in 2015 attracted 380,000 visitors and hit 1.6billion yuan trading volume. Over 300 international exhibitors attended the show, which improved its influence to be competitive with Tucson Show of the USA and Munich Show of the Germany.

Chenzhou city has become a shining pearl of the world’s gem industry.

It seems that more results can be favored to Chenzhou city via the show from the aspect of Yi pengfei.

Building the nest first to attract phoenix, assisted with this concept, Chenzhou city attracted series powerful enterprise entities with great potential. 29 State-owned enterprises as China Minmetals, China Construction Materials, and etc. have placed there investment there; Amer Group which is one of the top500 companies of the world have settled down there; and 21 private companies of Chenzhou city have been enrolled into top50 non-ferrous industry of Hunan province.

“Non-ferrous industrial cluster hit 100billion yuan output value firstly in Chenzhou city,” introduced Yi Pengfei. In2015, the GDP of Chenzhou city was up to 200billion yuan and per capita disposable income was amounted to 18,108yuan, both of which indicated that Chenzhou gained sound effects on social and economic development and kept sustainable development as well.

Yi also told to the reporters that Federico Pezzotta-Chairman of 8th International Mineral Association Museum Commission would firstly attend the show on behalf of the commission. As confirmed by the chairman, the 8th International Mineralogy & Museum Convention would be held together with Chenzhou 5th Mineral Show in Chenzhou city.

Linked by the show, Chenzhou city would establish the friendly city relationship with Tucson of the USA and Kimberly of the South Africa.

Particularly worth mentioning is that international mineral gem commercial trade platform would be launched for the first time and all the enterprises and exhibits attend the show are capable to enjoy the convenient spot trade with the assistance of clout computing, big data, internet, logistics network, and other modern information technologies.

“Chenzhou city would well seize the chance to improve the show to be an everlasting show,” stated Yi Pengfei. A 30,000-squaremeter big mineral gem industrial park was approved to be constructed in Chenzhou High-tech Industrial Park by Hunan Government. It will be improved by cluster development with the functions of “production, processing, and trading”.

Chenzhou Government would sign strategic framework agreement with Amer Group on the show. The Amer Group would sign more agreements with some enterprises as well.

Furthermore, Chenzhou Government is working on the plan of construction of 10-mile mineral gem trading street which is aimed to be improved as China’s even world’s mineral gem distributing center. 300mu lands have been confirmed for the construction of mineral gem market in Shizhuyuan Mine.

Blueprint of the future: improving the mineral gem industry to be a 30-billion-yuan industrial cluster

“Followed the requirements of Hunan provincial leaders, Chenzhou city would try best to improve the show to be an international exhibition which can be competitive with Tucson Show of the USA. Chenzhou city is taking the improvement of mineral gem industry as breakthrough for promoting structural reform and upgrading of traditional industry. On the basis of high-level orientation, innovation, cluster and intensive, and regulated development, it would try great efforts to improve the industry to be a 30-billion-yuan industrial cluster in 2020 with the functions of R&D, design, production, trade, service, display, and tourism, especially on characteristic, centralization, branding, and internationalization of the gem industry,” Yi Pengfei portrayed the blueprint of the mineral gem industry.

How to materialize the blueprint? As considered by Yi Pengfei, “innovation” is one of the most important points- the transformation and upgrading of traditional non-ferrous industry should be improved with the innovation of system and mechanism.

Furthermore, industrial park should be improved together with the show.

It was learned that the 4th CMGS would be opened one month later (May 19-23, 2016). Currently, all the preparation work is being promoted smoothly.
