In the morning of April 8, 2016, the press conference of 4th China International Mineral and Gem Show was held in the People's Hall in Beijing. 

It was reported that the press conference of 4th China International Mineral and Gem Show was held in the People's Hall in Beijing in the morning of April 8, 2016. As announced by the organization commission that the show would be held from May 19-23 in Chenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. That is the first show after fixing the show in Chenzhou city permanently by the Ministry of Land and Resources and Hunan Government.

Jiang Jianjun- Director of Science and International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources attended the conference and answered the questions proposed by the journalists on site. Yi Pengfei- Secretary of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee addressed the introduction of Chenzhou city. Kong Heping- Deputy Minister of Hunan Propaganda Department hosted the conference. Zhang Xihui- Member of Chenzhou Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Minister of Chenzhou Propaganda Department issued some news of the show there.

The show will follow the tenets of "gathering global resources, establishing international brand, stretching communication, carrying forward scientific civilization", entitle with the theme of "year of mineral crystal origin", and mainly show the boutique minerals from mineral crystal origins of the world. 

As answered by Jiang Jianjun on the conference that there were many reasons to fix the show in Chenzhou city permanently: first, it is "the non-ferrous metals museum of the world" where is with rich ore and mineral crystals; second, it is a real "city in the forest" where is with sound ecological environment; third, it is with abundant tourism resources, not only natural landscapes as Mount Mang, Dongjiang Lake, Feitian Mointain, and etc., but also some red resources as the former issuing sit of "three disciplines, six notifications", and etc.; fourth, it is with sound convention and exhibition facilities that four permanent mineral crystals halls are available there; fifth, it is with extinguish location advantages that it is near the Pearl River Delta and its transportation condition is very convenient; sixth, it is with obvious opening advantages that its platforms of opening up are perfect; seventh, it is with excellent industrial advantages that the gem industrial park has been placed into the plan and international cooperation are being accelerated; and etc.

Yi Pengfei said Chenzhou is with abundant resources that over 110 minerals have been discovered there. The reserves of some minerals as wolfram, bismuth, tin, fluorite, and etc. keep ranking the top place of China. The reserve of amorphous graphite covers 70% of the world. It is the largest production base of silver, bismuth, and amorphous graphite of China. Tongtian jade, Huanglong jade, black jade, rainbow stone, hsianghualite, and some other mineral gems are available there with rich storage and great potential of exploration. Chenzhou city is honored as “home of China’s non-ferrous metals”, “home of amorphous graphite”, “silver city of China”, and “decorative mineral crystals city of China”. 

Yi stated that in recent years, Chenzhou tried great efforts on “”promoting industry, strengthening entity, upgrading quality, increasing effect” on the basis of its fundamental condition of resource-oriented city, which helped to improve the transformation development of mineral gems and other non-ferrous industries with substantial effects and gained sound economic and social development as well. Chenzhou city has specified its general strategy of “keeping leading role of industry, improving overall development”, has forged the convenient transportation network interior and exterior, has formatted the opening pattern with perfect functions, and has gathered a batch of powerful and potential enterprises, all of which helped to shape stable and scientific development trend.

Yi Pengfei stated that the mineral show which is the largest professional mineral and gem show of Asia under current condition would be fixed in Chenzhou city permanently from this time. It would become an everlasting “show fixed on the shaft head”. Chenzhou city would keep promoting the industrial development and improving the mineral gem industry as an important breakthrough for accelerating structural reform and upgrading traditional industries. It would pay closer attention on the characteristic, centralization, branding, and internationalization of gem industry and try to improve it to be a special industrial cluster with the functions of R&D, design, production, trade, service, exhibition, and tourism and with annual sales revenue of 30billion yuan in 2020. In the meantime, Chenzhou city would improve the construction of industrial parks such as gem industrial park, mineral gem trading center, and some gem parks, which is purposely to forge the city to a low-lying land for the development of gem industry and enterprises with better opening up and business condition. 

Yi Pengfei delivered his sincere invitation to the exhibitors and collectors of gems, investors, and tourists at home and abroad and warmly welcome them to join in the show, enjoy the charm of “mineral crystal city”, and create the new chances and new spaces for the development of mineral gem industry together.

Zhang Xihui expressed 6 highlights of the show on issuing the news of show: first, forging international mineral gem e-commerce platform and guiding the mineral enterprises and mineral gem markets to apply modern information technologies as cloud computing, big dada, internet, logistics, and etc., and then improving the e-commerce platform economy; second, building international electronic test center of mineral gems; third, cultivating professional mineral gem market; forth, establishing international mineral gem industrial park; fifth, promoting the international cooperation of mineral gems; and sixth, displaying series national treasure mineral boutiques of the world, e.g. the treasure of Collector's Edge Minerals, Inc. – 26-ton native copper crystal, and etc.
