Recently, the "Chenzhou Calcium Carbonate Industry Development Plan" was approved in principle by the Chenzhou Municipal Government Executive Meeting. According to the Industrial Plan, Chenzhou will utilize the abundant local calcium carbonate mineral resources, build new powder materials and processing bases, transform ore into industry, develop intensive processing, lengthen the industrial chain, and build the calcium carbonate industry into a quality-effective "double-high" industry of 100 billion yuan.

Chenzhou City has abundant and high-quality calcium carbonate resources and good development conditions. At present, a certain basis of mineral resources processing and calcium carbonate production has been formed, which provided a good condition for the development of calcium carbonate industry. Chenzhou City will focus on the development of non-metallic mineral processing, calcium carbonate and downstream processing industrial bases in accordance with the advantages of resources, logistics and other industries to achieve intensive development of calcium carbonate industry, produce functional powder materials, green building materials, environmental protection coatings and other series of products, form calcium carbonate production and processing, R&D and application of the whole industry chain production system, and build a green development base for calcium carbonate industry in the central region by 2025.

The development of Chenzhou's calcium carbonate industry will strictly comply with the requirements of "three unification, three control and one centralization", that is to unify of industrial planning, park layout and mining rights settings, control of resources, total amount and flow direction, and centralize the establishment of mining rights to the unified research and approval at the municipal level. In terms of industrial layout, according to the distribution and quality of calcium carbonate resources in Chenzhou City, Chenzhou City will establish three industrial concentration zones, of which Linwu County calcium carbonate industrial concentration zone will build the whole industry chain cluster of calcium carbonate; Yizhang County will focus on the construction of stone and heavy calcium product concentration zone to build Hunan stone production base; Guiyang County, with the existing industrial agglomeration areas as the focus, will develop a series of heavy calcium carbonate products and stone processing.

In terms of industrial composition, the city will focus on the development of high value-added calcium carbonate products, such as ordinary light calcium carbonate, ultra-fine calcium carbonate, activated carbon calcium carbonate, nano-calcium carbonate, and food-grade calcium carbonate, and support the development of downstream processing industry of calcium carbonate and assist the development of non-metallic mineral processing industry. At the same time, Chenzhou City will plan to build Chenzhou Calcium Carbonate Product Inspection and Testing Center according to the model of Chenzhou Graphite National Inspection Center, introduce talents, set up a scientific research team of calcium carbonate industry with core technology and innovation ability, and cooperate actively with e-commerce giants to build an information trading platform for calcium carbonate commodities.
