"There is a lake in the sky on earth, and thousands of scenes are in it". This is the poet's praise for the Dongjiang Lake. Dongjiang Lake is located in Zixing City, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. Wuhan-Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway, etc. can be reached directly. The water area of Dongjiang Lake is 160 square kilometers, the water storage capacity is 8.12 billion cubic meters, and the water quality reaches the first class national standard. Dongjiang Lake is famous for its numerous islands and beautiful scenery.

Dongjiang Lake is located in Zixing City, which was established in the first year of Yonghe in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 136). It has a history of more than 1800 years. There are 28 key cultural relics protection units and 3 provincial intangible cultural heritage protection lists.

Dongjiang Lake is pure and vast, with a surface area of 160 square kilometers and a vast expanse of blue waves. There are foggy Xiaodongjiang, Dongjiang Dam, Longjing Gorge, Doushuailingyan, Dongjiang Drifting, Sanxiang and Sishui · Dongjiang Cultural Tourism Street (including Dongjiang Strange Stone Museum, Photography Art Museum, and Cultural Xiaoxiang Museum), as well as antique painted boats, luxury yachts, thrilling water parachuting and water motorcycle.

Dongjiang Lake is the first lake to be protected by legislation alone in China, and the only one among the five ecological compensation pilot projects in China. The natural and cultural resources of Dongjiang Lake have kept their original scale and shape. According to the statistics of the tourism industry, in 2018, Dongjiang Lake tourist area received 7.078 million domestic and foreign tourists, realized a comprehensive tourism income of 4.624 billion yuan, and promoted the employment of more than 20000 people directly or indirectly engaged in the cultural and tourism industry.

Dongjiang Lake is the only six in one tourist area in Hunan Province with national AAAAA tourist area, national scenic spot, national ecotourism demonstration area, National Forest Park, National Wetland Park and National Water Conservancy Scenic spot.
