It was reported that a sports working conference was held in Chenzhou city on February 22, 2014. It was purposely to summarize the establishment work of sports city handled in 2013 and arrange some sports work in 2014, especially the establishment of sports city and 2014 12th Hunan provincial games.

In 2013, the work on establishment of sports city was promoted well, such as release of“special plan for Chenzhou city’s sports facilities”, construction and upgrading projects of 13 lighting basketball courts, construction of 97 fitness paths projects, construction of 216 farmers’ fitness projects, covering 40% administrative villages of Chenzhou city, undertaken of China Rally Champion and 2014 World Volleyball Championship qualification games of Asian area, holding of more than 30 national, Hunan provincial and Chenzhou municipal fitness activities, etc.

It was introduced that more wonderful events would be handled out by Chenzhou city in 2014. First Hunan provincial youth boxing tournament would be held in Yongxing county on February 25, 2014. China International Women’s Volleyball Tournament and Hunan provincial Helong Cup Basketball Game would be held in this May and July separately in Chenzhou Sports Center. In this October, China Rally Championship would be held in Rucheng county. At the meantime, Chenzhou city tried best to fight for Hunan Provincial Games. More efforts were placed on holding fitness activities, construction of sports facilities, establishment of sports city, and etc. to try to achieve better results.
