It was reported that the 12th Hunan provincial sports meeting was closed in Loudi city on September 15, 2014. Chenzhou delegation won 45.5 gold medals and 68 medals with the score of 2400 in this sports meeting, which fully filled the targets set at the beginning of the game. The next Hunan provincial sports meeting would be held in Hengyang city and Shaoyang city.

More than 5900 athletes from 14 cities and autonomous prefectures of Hunan province and Hunan Provincial Sports School fought against the 717 gold medals of 23 major items in this game which was launched on September 3, 2014.

436 athletes from Chenzhou city were dispatched to join in the major items competition, such as athletics, swimming, wrestling, badminton, basketball, shooting, and etc. Many promising young athletes came forth on this game. Finally, Chenzhou delegation won 45.5gold medals, 42 silver medals and 26 bronze medals with the score of 2400, ranking the seven place of both medal list and score list.
