It was learned that the preliminary match of“our festival- Dragon Boat Festival- Qu Yuan Cup”- first Hunan mass dragon boat contest would be launched in Aquatic Center of Zixing city soon. When reporters arrived at the contest site in Dongjiangwan, workers were busy in handling the preparation work for the contest and two teams which would attend the contest were training hard there as well. The team members’ shouting seemed to lead the reporters to the contest site.

According to the time schedule, 15 dragon boat teams with over 400 athletes from Chenzhou city, Hengyang city and Yongzhou city would fight for this preliminary match on this May 31. Hunan City Channel would present live broadcast of this contest.

As introduced by Propaganda Department of Zixing Municipal Party Committee, Zixing city paid highly attention on the preparation work for this contest. A comprehensive propaganda work was carried out in Zixing city after May Day holiday. All the details for the preparation of preliminary match were reported on TV. In the middle of May, the communication with Hunan City Channel was handled out well to confirm all the supporting details and program schedules for the live broadcast. Volunteers and hostesses were selected out and judges were confirmed as well. At the meantime, arrangements on hotels and transportation for the attendants were figured out. Security work was handled out by relative departments by dispatching over 300 security guys to manage relative work. Some files for the guidance of contest were proceeded to the final stage. The racing tracks were finished. Furthermore, the upgrading work on south bank of Dongjiangwan was being promoted well that a new Dongjiangwan was about to present to public on this May 28.
