It was reported an investment promotion conference for the development of gem industry was held in Chenzhou city in the afternoon of May 21, 2015. Chen Shezhao- President of Chenzhou Municipal CPPCC presented the propaganda and promotion on the conference. Guangdong Gem Jade & Jewelry Industry Association, Jieyang Qiaonan Jewelry Association and some principals of jewelry enterprises attended the promotion conference and shared their ideas on the promotion of Chenzhou city’s gem industry.

Thanks to the advantaged geographical condition and favorable water ecology, there are abundant mineral resources and gem & jade resources are reserved in Chenzhou city. It is famous as “non-ferrous metal city of China”, “decoration city of China, city of mineral crystal”, “amorphous graphite city of China”, and “silver city of China”. Reserves of over 110 minerals have been preliminarily proved in Chenzhou city. The reserves of wolfram and bismuth rank the first place of the world, and the reserve of amorphous graphite covers 70% of the world. Mineral crystals, Tongtian jade, Qibao gem, rainbow stone, chrismatite, ataraxia, China flower jade, powder crystal and some other gem resources area available in Chenzhou city, accounting for the value of over 600billion yuan.

In recent years, Chenzhou city tried great efforts on the promotion of decoration stone culture industry with the primary of mineral crystals and planned to build Chenzhou Gem Industrial Park and professional jewelry & jade trading market, especially on establishing a function gathering zone of “integration of production and city”with the primaries of jewelry & gem, arts & crafts, and precious metal & ornaments industry which are with complete industrial chain.

Chenzhou city presented an introduction of the development of gem industry, planning of gem industrial park, and the development of Tongtian jade on the promotion conference. All the principals of the gem & jade associations and jewelry enterprises highly appraised Chenzhou city’s mineral resources, transportation condition and policies, and shared some opinions and suggestions on the development of Chenzhou gem industry.

Chen Shezhao stated that Chenzhou city is with advantageous location, ecology, resource, environment and industrial foundation condition, and its economic and social development is kept being promoted well. Chen promised all suggestions presented by the experts would be further studied to perfect the policies on mineral and gem. She sincerely hoped the merchants would carry out comprehensive negotiation and cooperation with Chenzhou city in near future and reach win-win development.
