It was reported that the summit forum was held in the 3rd China (Hunan) International Mineral & Gem Show in Chenzhou International Convention & Exhibition Center on May 21, 2015. Many Chinese and foreign experts and scholars of mineral, gem, fossil and other fields gathered together and shared their ideas on the forum.

The forum was divided into first and second half part. 13 experts of mineral, gem, fossil and other fields communicated with each other on some themes as preservation and utilization of geologic relics, scientific research and science value of mineral, fossil and other natural heritages, utilization, preservation and collection of mineral, fossil and other natural heritages, development and construction of mine park and geological park, development of mineral and gem industry, and etc.

Peter Megaw- former President of America Tucson Mineral & Gem Show compared this mineral show with the top three international shows of Tucson, Munich and St. Mary on his speech. He stated that Chenzhou city is with abundant mineral resources. This mineral show is with large scale, high level and abundant species. Chenzhou city becomes a gathering center of academic exchange by holding this mineral show. He suggested that science knowledge and education should be placed in the primary place of the mineral show and more concerns on mineral and gem should be attracted via holding such kind of mineral show.

Wang Denghong- Director of rare and rare -earth metal research office of China Mineral Resources Institute and Doctoral Supervisor made a speech of “regularity of ore formation of Chenzhou city’s non-ferrous metals”. He analyzed the regularities of distribution, reservation and quality of Chenzhou ores and stated that the reservation volume of mineral resources of Chenzhou city is 5 times higher than national average level and it is with strong fundamental conditions as abundant species, good quality, long mining history, and etc.
