“Hunan Geological Exploration Cup”- 2012 the 2nd international bicycle challenge around Dongjiang Lake was held on September 28, 2012. 840 contestants from USA, New Zealand, Russia, and Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and other 15 provinces and municipality of China attended this challenge.
In the race of professional group held on September 28, 2012, Chenkai, Chen Xiangyuan and Hechong won the first place in men’s junior, men’s senior, women’s mix group separately.

It is learned that the challenge will be carried out by using timing meter sprint, and divided into professional and amateur groups. Both the groups were started from Dongjiang cultural square. But the professional group lasted for 50kms through fogging small Dongjiang lake, Dongjian dam, butterfly fall, Dongjiang lake roads, and Daitou village, while the amateur group lasted for 15kms through Dongjiang lake roads and Dongjiang dam dock.

On the close ceremony on September 29, there was a splendid show named “leap Dongjian Lake” performed by world top players of bicycle motocross.

Chenzhou municipal leaders-Zhong Benqiang and Zhou Hailin attended the opening ceremony.
