When reporters arrived at Guidong section of Yueru expressway recently, the signs for entrances, key sections, distance to service stations, etc. were set along the expressway. Currently, the project was handled for the final stage and was estimated to be opened to public on December 26, 2013 smoothly.

Yueru expressway was one of the projects for Hunan provincial “seven vertical and nine horizontal" expressway network. The 523kms long expressway is from Yueyang city, Pingjiang, Liuyang, Liling, Youxian, Chaling, Yanling, Guidong, to Rucheng county where connects with Yuexiang expressway. Guidong section is about 37.603kms, covering 17 administrative villages of 3 counties and towns of Guidong county. Sidu and Shatian were set as the entrances of the expressway. The section was construction under the standard design of expressway with four-lane (design speed is about 80kms per hour), and 24.5kms wide of roadbed. The budget investment of Guidong section of Yueru expressway was amounted to 4.3 billion yuan. It was estimated to be opened to public on December 26, 2013.
