On August 23, Liang Zuhua- investigator of Hunan Housing Ministry and senior landscape engineer, Zhou Shulan- senior garden experts of Hunan Housing Ministry and senior landscape engineer and other experts took an investigation on Chenzhou establishment working of a national garden city.

There are 8 systems with 64 indexes of“a national garden city” like comprehensive management, green land construction, architectural management and control, environment protection, energy saving and emission reduction, municipal facilities, living condition, social security. Now, there are more than 9.99 square meters of park green land areas per capita for urban center with the green land rate of 35.89% and greening coverage rate of 38.12%, basically meeting the national garden city standard.

The expert team highly affirmed Chenzhou establishment working on national garden city after visiting Qingnian road, Wuling park, Longfeng park (revetment, small garden, courtyard), Beihu park, Chenjiang road (Suxianling, Shiliuwan small garden, Suxianlu lake), Ailian park, export processing district (courtyard), and other construction sites.
The expert team remarked that Chenzhou city was with prerequisite on the national garden city establishment for its greening environment, long history and abundant resources. Thanks to the great efforts tried by Chenzhou municipal leaders, there were many tiny sceneries, squares, gardens available on the streets which met the national garden city standard well. Especially for the construction of gardens, Chenzhou central city was surrounded with so many new gardens, which is very rare in other cities. The expert group considered that, to be truly create a national garden city, the final sprint was needed, but on the whole, Chenzhou city was with great expectation for passing the national garden city evaluation.
