It is the season for enjoying azalea blossom in Mangshan mountain now. The six azalea festival of Mangshan mountain which entitled with the theme “pray in Mangshan mountain with azalea, enjoy ecological beauty on hot spring”will be opened on May 13, 2013. Many news medias, tourists, photographers, etc. will be attracted there.

It was learned that the festival was held by Yizhang County Party Committee, Yizhang Government, and Mangshan Public Forest Administration, and was undertaken by Mangshan National Forest Park and Mangshan Hot Spring. It was purposely to improve the tourism development of Mangshan mountain by holding such activity. During the festival, azalea, hot spring, drifting, forest, waterfall, folk music and dance, etc. which can show the unique features of Mangshan original forest would be presented to all the attendants. 

According to the agenda of this festival, opening ceremony, award ceremony of photography contest, billing ceremony of source of Pearl River, boot ceremony of “Snake St. of Mangshan Mountain”, blessing ceremony, yoga performance, folk music and dance of Yao nationality, and some more activities would be showed during the festival. All those enabled tourists to enjoy the unique culture of tourism in Mangshan mountain.

It was learned that 43 kinds of azalea have been founded in Mangshan mountain. Due to the different living condition in different altitude, the flowering period can be last for 3 months in Mangshan mountain, especially for the tens hundred meters azalea belt located in Tiantai mountain.

It was introduced by the festival organizing committee that it was intended to forge the Mangshan mountain tourism brand with the characteristics of original ecology by holding such kind of activity and improve the healthy development of Mangshan forest ecological tourism industry accordingly.
