Openging ceremony for Sixth China-Chenzhou Mangshan Mountain Alpine Azalea Festival was held on May 13, 2013 in Mangshan Forest Park. Many visitors, travel agencies, medias, photographers, etc. were attracted there to enjoy the festival. This festival was held by Chenzhou Mangshan Mountain Tourism Development Co., Ltd. and Mangshan Mountain Forest Spa Hotel.

It was learned that it was purposely to promote the original ecological brand of Mangshan mountain and improve the tourism industry and local economy by holding this kind of azalea festival. In the opening ceremony, many activities were held there, such as signing ceremony of an alliance protocol among Mangshan Mountain Forest Spa Hotel and other five units, rewarding ceremony for “beautiful Mangshan mountain” photography contest, boot ceremony for the cinema of “holy serpent of Mangshan mountain”, unveiling ceremony for “Mangshan poem” carve, opening ceremony for art exhibition of Wanghao, etc.. Some honor guests visited a few famous scenic spots of Mangshan mountain after the opening ceremony of the festival. Beside those, a tourism promotion conference was held in the afternoon.

Mangshan mountain was famous as the second Xishuangbanna of China and natural arboretum in South of China. It was with the most abundant azalea resources in the south of China as well. More than 43 species of azalea can be found here. Due to the difference of elevation, different kinds of azalea blossom in different seasons which enabled people can enjoy the flowers for more than 3 months. Because of the low temperature and rainy weather this year, the blossom period for azalea was with some delay.

Though it was the third time for Mr. Liu who was from Changsha city to visit Mangshan mountain, he can still enjoy different beauty of Mangshan mountain. Liu promised that he would come here again.
