It was learned from Suxian district that Xihe Beach Park was awarded with China Habitat Environment Example prize by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. This award is the highest one in China concerned for habitat environment construction.

Xihe Beach Park is one of the heavy metal pollution control projects of Xiangjiang river. It was introduced that this park was established on the basis of ecological restoration of a tail mine area. More than 130 million yuan was placed on its construction of excise squares, beach amusement area, parking lot, and travel roads and greening work. Now the green coverage of this former mine area is more than 70%. It is a good example for the secondary development, further utilization and sustainable development of heavy metal contaminated area. Now Xihe Beach Park becomes one of the favorite leisure destinations of Chenzhou people.
