According to the list released by Hunan Science and Technology Department that Yizhang and other 10 cities and counties of Hunan province were enrolled into the list of Hunan provincial sustainable development trial plots. Till now, 4 Hunan provincial and above level sustainable development trial plots were available in Chenzhou city now, they were two national level ones in Zixing city and Yongxing county and two Hunan provincial level in Suxian district and Yizhang county.

The construction of trial plot of Yizhang county would be last from 2014-2018. It was purposely to be established as a carrier and platform for implementation of scientific development perspective and promotion of ecological civilization and “two-oriented society” construction by playing the supporting and guiding roles of science and technology.

As an important joint place of the“golden passage” of Hunan province, Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macau, Yizhang county is with abundant mineral resources and tourism resources. Mountain Mang is the best protected virgin forest in the same latitude of the earth, which was enrolled as national forest park, national natural conservation area, one of the first 14 national natural landscapes, one of the eight new top landscapes of Hunan province and national 4A landscape. Furthermore, Yizhang county is one of the 12 “key red tourism area” of China and one of the three red tourism theme plates of Hunan province. The headquarter site for Xiangnan intifada which was located in Yizhang county was also enrolled as one of the 100 typical red tourism landscapes of China.

Followed with the idea of “promoting Nanling poverty stricken area’s sustainable development with tourism”, Yizhang trial plot would focus on protection of ecological environment and efficient utilization of resources to explore more regional tourism economy development model, implement the project demonstration, promote optimization of industrial structure and improve the sustainable development of the area with tourism development.
