In recent years, the government of Ouyang Hai town changed their ideas to promote red tourism and local landscape viewing by taking the best advantages of its red tourism and natural resources, which helped to attract large numbers of visitors.
It was learned that Ouyang Hai town is the hometown of Ouyang Hai who is one of “100 most touched people since the establishment of People’s Public of China” and a soldier of communism. The town is with rich tourism resources. The highest peak of Guiyang county- Sizhou mountain (1428 meters higher than sea level) is located in the town. In recent years, the county studied and carried forward selfless dedication and self-sacrifice spirit of Ouyang Hai by the carrier of Hunan provincial and Chenzhou municipal patriotism education base- former residence of Ouyang Hai. It also held some other events as enjoying azalea to popularize the hero’s story to the visitors on their red tourism trip.

It was introduced that azalea flowers usually blossom in May in the county. The 15km long trip from the former residence of Ouyang Hai to the top of Sizhou mountain will be decorated with the flowers then. At the meantime, the highway from the town center to the mountain has been facilitated sound concrete surface. The town planned to hold some events as essay contest with the theme of “carrying forward the spirit of Ouyang Hai, spreading the positive spirit to the society”, 2016 China- Guiyang hill-climbing tourism festival, and etc. in this year, which was purposely to further popularize the fame of Ouyang Hai.
