From July 15 to August 15, 2015, the organization committee of first Chenzhou Games collected the works of emblem, flag, and song for the games. After the review of experts, the committee confirmed one acceptance award of emblem and 2 excellent work awards from 44 emblem design works and 2 excellent work awards from 52 flag design works. All works were shown on http://www.czxww.cn/ publicly. The emblem design which was worked out by Chen Zhuang who is from Anhui province was finally approved as the emblem of first Chenzhou Games.

Theme of the design: fighting

Interpretation of creativity: It focuses on the core design elements of “一”-calligraphic number one and “C”- initial capital of Chenzhou city. By integrating with some other visual elements as green mountains, clear water, the holy flame, and rivers, a passionate sportsman image which can fully express Chenzhou city’s sports charm and Chenzhou city’s features of “city in the forest, leisure city” is present to the audience. This emblem highly indicates that the games would be a “hot, splendid, civilized, harmonious” high level sports event.

2. The passionate sportsman highly indicates Chenzhou people’s entrepreneurial spirit; the embracing red, green and blue color refers to the release of torch which indicates the integration and sublimation of Chenzhou city’s spirit and the era’s sports’ spirit and also indicates the take-off trend of Chenzhou city’s economy and society.

3. The emblem is simple but with strong lines to show the motivation and vigor of progress. The traditional calligraphic design indicates the integration and improvement of Hunan culture and Lingnan culture and highlights the passionate atmosphere of sports competition, which well shows the vitality and dynamic of Chenzhou city.
